Every household should have a few canvas tarps available. They are probably one of the most versatile items in a storage shed. If you run out of space in the shed, you can always use some heavy duty canvas tarps and a few poles to make more room. They also are great for wrapping furniture or prized possessions during a move, keeping them from getting scratched, dented or broken.

If you live in an area that has a lot of weather changes, especially if it involves precipitation, it would be of great benefit to have waterproof canvas tarps on hand. They can be used to cover outdoor furniture, or as a weather break on a back porch. Let the kids go out and play in a tent made with one, in the rain or snow. If  your family goes camping or fishing, they can make a trip much drier, and keep the mood light. Having all your gear wet sure puts a damper on things. They can also be used to keep your possessions from sun damage. Cover your car or bike with one and save yourself from having to get a new paint job when the sun fades the color. Any time you are doing yard work, a tarp can be used to keep the sun or rain off you and your work area. They can also be used to help move dirt or gravel.

Any time an extra room is needed outside, they can easily be put up with a few custom canvas tarps. Birthday parties, graduation parties, or just an evening playing games with the family outside can all be done within a portable room. Set one up over a corner of the pool for a shaded area, or put it up over a hot tub. For a more formal occasion use white canvas tarps and create a beautiful, fancy backyard wedding or special anniversary.

Whether you are working, playing, or protecting things with them, canvas tarps will be one of the items you are always pulling out of the storage shed for one reason or another. You may find it easier to keep them readily accessible, perhaps on a shelf in the garage or basement. Knowing you have one, you will find many more uses for them, constantly dragging them out. You will also find that all your friends and neighbors that don't have one will be borrowing yours. Keep a close tab on where yours gets lent out or you may end up having that family cook out in the rain, with no cover.
