The main thing we are going to be covering today is the stainless steel backsplash, but first I want to cover different styles of backsplash that are often used as well. We will also discuss the advantages of a stainless steel backsplash and finally the cost of installing stainless steel backsplash sheets.

Different Styles Of Kitchen Backsplash

You can really personalize your kitchen with different kinds of kitchen backsplash. Best thing about it is that they are functional and at the same time they are making your kitchen looking good. Another good way to change your kitchen fast and easy is through the use of kitchen furniture. When you are getting a new kitchen backsplash you might want to consider the following materials:

  • A corian countertop or granite countertop
  • stainless steel sinks
  • stainless steel kitchen shelves
  • stainless steel cabinets

Ofcourse these are just a few ideas that would go well with a backsplash. Feel free to experiment to get the best results. When you try to match the details in the kitchen then most of the time you will pull off a good job. For instance, when you are going to install a stainless steel backsplash, you can use stainless steel sheets as these are quite cheap. Then make sure that more things have that great stainless steel look such as the cabinets, shelves and kitchen sink.

Also, if you have a few stainless steel appliances in your kitchen then this backsplash will suit your kitchen very well. They blend in well with most appliances like the dishwasher, stove and refrigerator.

Advantages Of Using Stainless Steel Backsplashes

Using a stainless steel kitchen backsplash certainly adds a few advantages. After installing a stainless steel backsplash your kitchen will be much easier to clean. Now you can cook without worrying on making your kitchen dirty. Because if you do, you just simply get a rag and some water and the dirt will go away just like that. If you let the dirt stay there for a few days though, you might want to add a cleaning product with the water to make things easier. The key thing is to clean your mess quick, just do it when you are cleaning your pots and pans and it should be done in no time.

A second big advantage that I always love is the looks it can bring. Your kitchen will really look new and improved after installing a stainless steel backsplash. You ever seen those expensive high-end designer kitchens? If you look closely you will see that they almost all have stainless steel backsplashes installed. That is because the natural look of stainless steel is very modern and trendy. You can match almost any kitchen style with them.

The third advantage when it comes to stainless steel backsplashes is that they are strong. You won’t easily damage a stainless steel backsplash because most objects would just bounce right off. If you are considering on getting a natural stone backsplash or a ceramic backsplash, I will tell you this; when using those types of kitchen backsplashes you are at high risk of damaging your kitchen. When you hit a ceramic backsplash with a pan it might get chipped and ultimately it can get cracks on the surface. A good way to avoid this is to use a stainless steel backsplash, got to be careful not to put in any dents though!

Stainless Steel Backsplash Cost

The last thing we are covering today is the cost that my come with installing a new stainless steel backsplash. As for anything be sure you get a quality product, if you buy a backsplash that’s of bad quality you will get stresses as they are easy to be damaged. This does not mean you should get the priciest backsplash there is. The Price does tell something on the quality, but certainly not all. Okay so you are going to buy a quality kitchen backsplash, no butts! The cost varies on size and complexity. Stainless steel sheets really varies in price they can go from 50 to over 200 dollars. It may seem a whole lot, but try to see it as an investment in your house. Stainless steel backsplash sheets also need to be installed by someone who really knows what he’s doing. You can install sheets and tiles yourself if you really want to, but why risk on messing it up? Get an expert to install them for you and you will enjoy your new kitchen for life.

You know, we are thinking of redoing our kitchen including the backsplash, it never occurred to me to use stainless steel, I thought that it was only for restaurants etc. Sounds like a great solution, thanks for the article!

Excellent info, thanks! I've seen backsplashes made out of a number of different materials, but my worry has always been dirt getting embedded, causing a major hassle with cleanup. I'll definitely look into stainless steel now.
