We all know kids love to invite their friends to have sleepovers. When this may be fun, it can cause some stress on the parents. Such as that the kids room has not enough space to place a second bed. In cases like this, kids trundle beds are the way to go. We’ll discuss what kids trundle beds actually are, why you would choose kids trundle beds over normal children’s beds and the different types of kids trundle beds.

Kids trundle beds, what exactly are they?

If you don’t know what trundle beds are you might be confused. The thing that separates a trundle bed form a normal kid’s bed or bunk bed is its space saving abilities. Trundle beds are usually two and sometimes three beds rolled into a single bed. For the most part this is done with wheels or a pulley system. The trundle will roll under the master bed in most cases when it’s not needed to save space.

Why would you choose kids trundle beds over normal children’s beds?

The main reason why people prefer kids trundle beds over normal children’s beds is their space saving abilities. If your kids room is small but you do want to be able to let him organize sleepover parties, kids trundle beds really are an outcome. When your kids are away, your kids room can also serve as a guest room. It might not be ideal but it’s better than nothing, right? Kids trundle beds usually have drawers as well to store toys. There will be more space in the room for your kids to play.

A few kids trundle bed types

There are a few types of trundle beds for kids. The most popular trundle bed for kids is the pull out bed. It’s a single piece and is stored under the mattress. It can be pulled out whenever you need to use a secondary bed.

The second most popular trundle bed is the pop up type. This type of trundle bed lets its user assemble one large bed by elevating the secondary mattress to the height of the upper mattress. This is possible because the second mattress is usually fastened to springs so it can come up to the level of the main mattress.

There you have it, you now know what trundle beds are! You know the advantages and why you would choose them over normal kids beds. You also know a few types of trundle beds now. You’re almost an expert!
